Owners of small businesses find it hard to keep up with the larger ones, especially when it comes to drastically cutting prices around the holidays. Therefore they are required to find a way in which they can promote their business and bring new customers into their doors.

Smaller business owners should not fear, however, as there are a few fun and inexpensive ways that they can reach out to their customer base and even attract some new customers into their store.

One way to get customers into your store is to offer early shoppers a few privileges. You can set up a table in the store full of donuts, bagels and coffee for the early morning customer. On top of that offer anyone who makes a purchase within your first two hours of business an additional discount on their items. You can even offer door prizes to the first few customers that walk into your store. These ploys will make your business the first stop on a holiday shoppers list, and they will be more tempted to purchase an item in your store, if it will save them a trip to a larger retail store later in the day. When working with these promotions you will surprise yourself on how much your sales will increase and how many people are lines up outside your store when you arrive at work in the morning.

Other great ideas include offering incentives to customers who spend money in your store. You can give them a discount off their purchase, or a durable and reusable promotional shopping bag. These items will encourage customers to spend more at your shop and the promotional bag will gain exposure to your store where ever your customer totes it to.

All the promotions that you run during the holiday season should encourage customers to shop with you first and let all their friends know that they should do the same. This is the best way to increase your business sales during this holiday season.

When you are organizing your next company gathering, don’t forget the promotional giveaways, as this will let your staff know how much you appreciate the job they do. You don’t have to spend a large amount of money, give them something fun like custom printed stress toys, or promotional games and puzzles.
