What would make your business life ideal? If you are like most people, chances are good that you’ll answer something along the lines of “I would never have to waste any time or money on promoting my business, but I’d still rake in the dough.” Is that something along the lines of what you were thinking? Thought so. Unfortunately, business isn’t any more perfect than the rest of our lives. Businesses do have to have advertising budgets and the key to every successful marketing plan – good exposure – isn’t easy to achieve.

The catch-22 is this: Trying to figure out which route to take toward marketing success can be a really daunting task. There are so many different ways to invest your advertising dollars and taking a trial-and-error approach can both waste time and money. One method has stood the test of time, however: the press release.

The reason press releases are used time and again as a promotional tool is because, simply, they work. They are a very effective way to get the news out about your business to a wide variety of media outlets all at once. Moreover, it creates a very effective word of mouth channel. When one media outlet prints or broadcasts your release, there is a good chance that it will catch the interest of one of their viewers or readers who will then pass the information along to people in their social or business circles. That results in even greater exposure for your business, with no extra effort on your part.

Effective press release can infiltrate the various media outlets probably better and faster than most other kinds of promotional materials. And not only that, but the information contained in a release can be excepted, quoted, printed and reprinted almost without end. That creates unbeatable potential for business!

Social media marketing company uSocial.net has developed a new service designed to help solve your press release distribution issues. They offer unlimited press release distribution services aimed at helping you distribute your press releases to as many media outlets as you can within a 30-day time period.

Curious about how to get more information on unlimited press release distribution? Check out some info on this great press release distribution service right here.

Remember when you were in high school and all you wanted in the world was to get noticed? It wasn’t easy to stand out in the crowd in a positive way, was it? Well, trying to get more Facebook fans is sort of like that. It’s not easy to get noticed in the vast cyber-sea that is Facebook. But it is possible and it’s not even that difficult if you know the basics.

First, you need to find some fans that have a common interest with you. That commonality could be based on geography, or industry, or a hobby or other such criteria. It’s imperative that you focus your search for your fans in on those people who may have an interest in buying your product or service. Otherwise, you’re wasting your time.

The other part of the puzzle is to work fast. Once you make the decision to bring your business onto Facebook, you’ll need to get your fan base growing quickly. Put your best marketing foot forward and strike while the iron is still hot. Don’t let your marketing plan go stale or you’ll run the risk not only of not getting new fans, but of losing the ones you did manage to get.

This all many seem a little tedious, but these steps are at the heart of a successful foray into Facebook marketing. It can be difficult to do this, for sure, but that’s where the really great part comes in. You don’t have to do it! Yes, you read that right. You don’t have to do any of this yourself. Web promoter uSocial.net’s Facebook marketing service allows you to literally buy the Facebook fans you want. All you have to do is tell uSocial.net what you are looking for in terms of your desired fans, and they will bring them right to you!

Buying Facebook fans is a quick and easy (and effective!) way to start getting your business noticed. No matter what kind of fans you are looking for, simply give them uSocial.net your criteria and they will deliver the fans to you!

If you install the correct kind of office air conditioning units in your business then you will create an environment that people will find pleasant to work in. Also installing the right sorts of units in an office will help to prevent the build up of moisture in the space which can affect the working environment and reduce the levels of productivity in those working in the room or space.

When any business is going to be buying air conditioning units for their offices they need to take certain factors into consideration beforehand. As well as looking at the size of the room they need to look at how many windows each room has and how many employees will be working in the space on a daily basis.

Along with these factors there are other things that a business owner needs to consider before they buy the system and things that they should know about office air conditioning units. The more they know about these systems and how they work then they will make a more informed decision as to which system will be right for their requirements. In this article we look at some of the things any owner of business should know with regards to air conditioning units for an office.

1. What Is The Units BTU Rating? – The British Thermal Unit (BTU) rating tells you the amount of heat that the unit can effectively remove from any room. The ones that have the higher rating are the ones that can effectively remove more heat from the room easily. It is vital that the unit selected for any office space has a rating that is sufficient to cope with the size of the room in which it is to be installed, so the larger the room the higher the rating the unit should have. If you don’t then the working environment won’t be as pleasant for the people working in it as you would have hoped.

2. What Is The EER Number On The Unit? ” This is something that all businesses should be looking at closely as it is this which tells you how much energy the unit needs to power it so that it works effectively. The best types of units to get are those with as high an EER number on them as possible as these use far less energy to provide the power they need to function well. But unfortunately the higher the EER number on the office air conditioning units the more you will have to spend on them. In an office space the units should have an EER number of around 8 to 11.5.

3. In What Way Can You Control The Units Temperature? – Most air conditioning units today are fitted with a heat sensor thermostat that automatically adjusts the temperature in the room through either a manual or programmable control system. The units that should be installed in an office should also come with variable speed fans as these further help to cool the air more efficiently not only when entering but exiting the unit. Plus to further enhance the units capabilities it is worth purchasing ones that come with remote controls, timers and digital temperature readouts.

4. How Easy Is The Unit To Maintain? ” Look for those office air conditioning units that come with filters that can easily be removed to be cleaned or replaced. By selecting such units as this you will ensure that yours will continue to work at its optimum levels at all times.

5. What Way Does The Unit Expel Air? – The units that many people will need for an office space will have to be ones that don’t make too much noise but remove the air quickly. The best types of units to select therefore are ones that are fitted with an adjustable thermostat unit and variable speed fans. Also make sure that the office air conditioning units you purchase have louvers to the front that move not just from side to side but also up and down.

As you can see there are a range of things you need to think about when looking to purchase air conditioning for the workplace over the summer. If you would like more help and advice on this then please read this article on choosing an air con unit which we have written to help you out.

If you’re looking for Cisco training and you haven’t worked with routers before, then the course you should go for is a CCNA. This training course was created to train men and women looking to have a working knowledge of routers. Commercial ventures who have a number of branches rely on routers to connect computer networks in different rooms to allow their networks to keep in touch. The Internet is made up of vast numbers of routers also.

As routers connect networks together, look for a program that includes basic networking skills (such as CompTIA Network+ and A+) before you start a CCNA. It’s essential to have this background understanding on networks before getting going with Cisco or you could find yourself a little lost. When you’ve qualified and are on the job market, companies will expect good networking skills to complement your CCNA.

If you’re just entering the world of routers, then studying up to CCNA is more than enough – at this stage avoid being tempted to do the CCNP. After gaining experience in the working environment, you will have a feel for if it’s appropriate for you to go to the level of CCNP.

Many individuals don’t understand what information technology means. It is thrilling, changing, and means you’re a part of the huge progress of technology that will change our world over the next few decades.

Society largely thinks that the technological advancement we have experienced is easing off. This couldn’t be more wrong. Terrific advances are ahead of us, and most especially the internet is going to dominate how we conduct our lives.

If making decent money is high on your list of priorities, then you will be pleasantly surprised to hear that the regular income of IT employees in general is much higher than with the rest of the economy.

Due to the technological sector developing with no sign of a slow-down, one can predict that the requirement for certified IT specialists will continue actively for decades to come.

Trainees looking at this market can be very practical by nature, and won’t enjoy sitting at a desk in class, and poring through books and manuals. If you identify with this, opt for more involving, interactive learning materials, with on-screen demonstrations and labs.

Long-term memory is enhanced when multiple senses are involved – learning experts have been saying this for as long as we can remember.

The latest audio-visual interactive programs with demonstrations and practice sessions will beat books every time. And you’ll actually enjoy doing them.

You’ll definitely want a look at some courseware examples from the school that you’re considering. The package should contain expert-led demonstrations, slideshows and fully interactive skills-lab’s.

You should avoid purely online training. Physical CD or DVD ROM materials are preferable where obtainable, so you can use them wherever and whenever you want – you don’t want to be reliant on your broadband being ‘up’ 100 percent of the time.

Some training companies will only offer support to you inside of office hours (typically 9am-6pm) and sometimes a little earlier or later; most won’t answer after 8-9pm at the latest and frequently never at the weekends.

Be wary of any training providers who use messaging services ‘out-of-hours’ – with the call-back coming in during typical office hours. This is no use if you’re stuck and want support there and then.

Be on the lookout for providers that incorporate three or four individual support centres from around the world. All of them should be combined to provide a single interface and 24×7 access, when you want it, with the minimum of hassle.

If you accept anything less than online 24×7 support, you’ll very quickly realise that you’ve made a mistake. It may be that you don’t use it late in the night, but what about weekends, evenings and early mornings at some point.

A capable and specialised consultant (vs a salesperson) will cover in some detail your current situation. This is vital for understanding your study start-point.

Quite often, the starting point of study for a student with experience is massively dissimilar to the student with no experience.

Opening with a basic PC skills program first may be the ideal way to get into your IT training, but depends on your skill level.

Both if you’re a beginner, or an experienced technician looking to gain accredited qualifications, you’ll discover interactive Microsoft MCSA training programs that teach both student levels.

If you want to get into the world of computers as a beginner, you will possibly need to have some coaching before attempting to go for the 4 MCP’s (Microsoft Certified Professional exams) needed to become MCSA qualified. Look for a company that’s able to create a bespoke package to cater for you – it should be possible for you to chat with an advisor to sort out your optimum route.

Proper support is incredibly important – ensure you track down something offering 24×7 direct access to instructors, as not obtaining this level of support will severely hold up your pace and restrict your intake.

Never purchase training that only supports students with a message system after office-staff have gone home. Trainers will defend this with all kinds of excuses. The bottom line is – you need support when you need support – not when it suits them.

The very best programs opt for a web-based 24×7 package involving many support centres from around the world. You will have a simple environment which switches seamlessly to the best choice of centres any time of the day or night: Support when it’s needed.

Don’t accept second best where support is concerned. The vast majority of IT hopefuls who give up, just need the right support system.

Make sure you don’t get caught-up, like so many people do, on the training course itself. Your training isn’t about getting a plaque on your wall; this is about gaining commercial employment. You need to remain focused on where you want to go.

Don’t be part of that group who choose a training program which looks like it could be fun – and end up with a plaque on the wall for a career they’ll never really get any satisfaction from.

Set targets for earning potential and the level of your ambition. Usually, this will point the way to which qualifications you will need and what’ll be expected of you in your new role.

We recommend that students always seek guidance and advice from a professional advisor before embarking on a particular learning program, so there’s little doubt that the content of a learning package provides the appropriate skill-set.

For the most part, the average trainee really has no clue what way to go about starting in a computing career, or what market is worth considering for retraining.

How can we possibly grasp the day-to-day realities of any IT job if we’ve never been there? Maybe we haven’t met someone who performs the role either.

The key to answering this predicament appropriately flows from a full talk over some important points:

* What nature of individual you are – what kind of jobs you get enjoyment from, and don’t forget – what you definitely don’t enjoy.

* Are you aiming to pull off a closely held objective – for instance, becoming self-employed as quickly as possible?

* Where do you stand on job satisfaction vs salary?

* Many students don’t properly consider the time involved to gain all the necessary accreditation.

* How much effort you’ll have available to set aside for obtaining your certification.

To cut through all the jargon and confusion, and uncover the best path to success, have an informal meeting with an industry-experienced advisor; an individual that understands the commercial reality whilst covering all the qualifications.

Many students think that the state educational route is the way they should go. So why then are qualifications from the commercial sector becoming more in demand?

With an ever-increasing technical demand on resources, the IT sector has been required to move to specialist courses that the vendors themselves supply – namely companies such as CISCO, Adobe, Microsoft and CompTIA. This frequently provides reductions in both cost and time.

University courses, as a example, clog up the training with too much background study – with a syllabus that’s far too wide. This holds a student back from getting enough core and in-depth understanding on a specific area.

The bottom line is: Commercial IT certifications tell an employer precisely what skills you have – it says what you do in the title: for example, I am a ‘Microsoft Certified Professional’ in ‘Designing Security for a Windows 2003 Network’. So employers can identify just what their needs are and what certifications are required to perform the job.

If you’d like to find an MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) training program, pay attention to the fact that training varies from company to company; and you’ll relate to some more than others. You will find a variety of courses, both if you’re new to network support, or a professional hoping to gain acknowledged certifications.

Should you be contemplating entering the IT workplace for the 1st time, you will possibly need to improve your skill-set prior to tackling all four MCP’s (Microsoft Certified Professional exams) required to become MCSA qualified. Find a provider that will design a course to fit your requirements – you should be able to discuss this with an advisor to determine your best course of action.

A study programme has to build towards a widely recognised exam as an end-goal – and not a worthless ‘in-house’ plaque for your wall.

From an employer’s perspective, only the major heavyweights like Microsoft, Cisco, Adobe or CompTIA (as an example) give enough bang for your buck. Nothing else will cut the mustard.

Authorised simulation materials and exam preparation packages are a must – and absolutely ought to be obtained from your course provider.

Due to the fact that many examination boards in IT tend to be American, you’ll need to be used to the correct phraseology. It’s not sufficient simply understanding random questions – they have to be in the same format as the actual exams.

A way to build self-confidence is if you verify your depth of understanding by doing tests and practice in simulated exam environments before you take the actual exam.

An important area that is sometimes not even considered by people considering a training program is ‘training segmentation’. Essentially, this is the way the course is divided up for delivery to you, which completely controls how you end up.

Most companies will sell you a program typically taking 1-3 years, and drop-ship the materials to you piecemeal as you get to the end of each exam. On the surface this seems reasonable – until you consider the following:

What would happen if you didn’t finish each and every module at the proposed pace? And maybe you’ll find their order of completion won’t be as easy as another different route may.

To be honest, the very best answer is to get an idea of what they recommend as an ideal study order, but to receive all the materials up-front. Meaning you’ve got it all should you not complete it inside of their required time-scales.

Most trainers typically provide a big box of books. This isn’t very interesting and not a very good way of studying effectively.

Many years of research has time and time again confirmed that connecting physically with our study, is proven to produce longer-lasting and deeper memory retention.

Locate a program where you’ll receive a library of CD and DVD ROM’s – you’ll begin by watching videos of instructors demonstrating the skills, with the facility to use virtual lab’s to practice your new skills.

Any company that you’re considering should be able to show you some simple examples of the materials provided for study. You’re looking for evidence of tutorial videos and demonstrations and interactive areas to practice in.

Avoiding training that is delivered purely online is generally a good idea. Physical CD or DVD ROM materials are preferable where obtainable, so you can use them wherever and whenever you want – it’s not wise to be held hostage to a quality and continuous internet connection.

If you’d like to become a web designer and have the most recognised qualification for today’s job market, you should find training in Adobe Dreamweaver.

In order to take advantage of Dreamweaver commercially as a web designer, an in-depth understanding of the complete Adobe Web Creative Suite (which includes Flash and Action Script) is highly recommended. With this knowledge, you have the choice to become either an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) or Adobe Certified Professional (ACP).

Designing the website is only the start of the skills needed by today’s web technicians. Why not look for a course that includes important features like PHP, HTML and MySQL in order to understand how to maintain content, drive traffic and operate on dynamic sites that are database driven.

Potential trainees hopeful to start an IT career generally haven’t a clue which path to follow, or which market to get qualified in.

What are the chances of us grasping the tasks faced daily in an IT career when we’ve never done it? Maybe we have never met anyone who performs the role either.

Achieving an informed conclusion really only appears from a methodical examination covering many altering areas:

* What hobbies you’re involved with in your spare-time – these often show the areas you’ll get the most enjoyment out of.

* For what reasons you’re getting involved with IT – it could be you’re looking to triumph over a long-held goal such as self-employment for example.

* How highly do you rate salary – is an increase your main motivator, or does job satisfaction rate a lot higher on your priority-list?

* There are many different sectors to gain certifications for in IT – there’s a need to achieve some background information on what sets them apart.

* The time and energy you’ll have available to commit your training.

For the majority of us, considering these areas requires a good chat with someone that knows what they’re talking about. And we don’t just mean the qualifications – but also the commercial expectations and needs besides.

Be on the lookout that any accreditations that you’re considering are recognised by industry and are the most recent versions. ‘In-house’ exams and the certificates they come with are often meaningless.

Unless your qualification is issued by a big-hitter like Microsoft, Cisco, Adobe or CompTIA, then chances are it could have been a waste of time and effort – because it won’t give an employer any directly-useable skills.

So, why might we choose qualifications from the commercial sector instead of familiar academic qualifications obtained from schools and Further Education colleges?

With university education costs spiralling out of control, along with the industry’s recognition that vendor-based training is closer to the mark commercially, we have seen a large rise in Adobe, Microsoft, CISCO and CompTIA accredited training paths that provide key skills to an employee for much less time and money.

In a nutshell, the learning just focuses on what’s actually required. It’s not quite as straightforward as that, but principally the objective has to be to concentrate on the fundamentally important skill-sets (along with a certain amount of crucial background) – without attempting to cover a bit about all sorts of other things (as academia often does).

Think about if you were the employer – and your company needed a person with some very particular skills. What’s the simplest way to find the right person: Trawl through loads of academic qualifications from graduate applicants, having to ask what each has covered and what commercial skills they have, or pick out specific commercial accreditations that perfectly fit your needs, and draw up from that who you want to speak to. You’ll then be able to concentrate on getting a feel for the person at interview – instead of long discussions on technical suitability.

Being a part of the leading edge of new technology is about as exciting as it can get. You personally play your part in shaping the next few decades.

We’re only just beginning to comprehend what this change will mean to us. The way we interact with the world will be significantly affected by computers and the internet.

And keep in mind that typical remuneration in the world of IT over Britain as a whole is significantly better than in other market sectors, which means you’ll be in a good position to gain a lot more once qualified in IT, than you could reasonably hope to achieve elsewhere.

The search for properly certified IT professionals is certain for the significant future, due to the substantial increase in the marketplace and the very large deficiency still present.

What in the world was I thinking? Work from home to avoid stress in the workplace? What a joke. When I first started my own online business, I anticipated being my own boss, earning a big income quickly, and less stress. I’m ashamed to say that I got involved with the so-called “envelope stuffing” scam and many others that were around when I desperately needed to make some money. I went through many mistakes, but at the same time I could have been avoiding them by getting my mind right in the beginning.

Learn the Truth About a Home Job

When you do some research, you may find out that the reality is far from what you thought it would be. Don’t place too much emphasis on your expectations. You must take the time to find out if a home job would be a good choice for you. My research showed that you can be very disappointed if your goal is to earn money fast

Map out your steps.

Now you know what you’re getting into, your goals are realistic and you have the willpower to persevere. As you go, consider some important questions: Am I ready to leave my day job? Will my family adjust to this new venture? Are my finances and credit secure? Do I have a marketing plan? How will I differentiate my business from the competition?

And of course there are many more to be answered and usually you will come up with those questions once you have answered the ones shown above.

Once you know these answers, it’s time to put your plan into action. Studies show that only 5% of home-based business last beyond the first three to six months. Don’t let that stop you. Beat the odds, stick with it and ride out the uncertainties that this business is sure to bring. Home job work demands a lot of time and energy before the monetary rewards. But don’t let that intimidate you. Once your business is successful, you will remember this article and how all your hard work and dedication has paid off!

Boy-have I made some foolish mistakes when it came to trying to make money online. Save yourself some time, money and your hair from being pulled out by visiting my work from home blog for advice, home business reviews, and the one thing you must never do when working for yourself!

Should you be looking for Microsoft certified training, then you’ll naturally expect training companies to supply a wide selection of the most superior training courses available today.

Try to discuss all the different permutations with a person who has knowledge of the commercial demands for IT staff, and is able to show you the most fruitful career to suit your abilities and character.

Having selected your career path, your next search is for a suitable training program customised to your needs. Your study program should leave no room for complaints.

Speak with almost any capable consultant and we’d be amazed if they couldn’t provide you with many terrible tales of students who’ve been sold completely the wrong course for them. Only deal with a skilled professional that digs deep to uncover the best thing for you – not for their wallet! You must establish an ideal starting-point that fits you.

Occasionally, the level to start at for a trainee with some experience can be hugely different to the student with no experience.

If this is going to be your initial stab at studying to take an IT exam then you may want to practice with some basic Microsoft package and Windows skills first.

Incorporating examination fees with the course fee then including an exam guarantee is a popular marketing tool with many training course providers. Consider the facts:

Obviously it’s not free – you’re still coughing up for it – the cost has just been rolled into the whole training package.

If it’s important to you to qualify first ‘go’, you must pay for each exam as you go, prioritise it appropriately and give the task sufficient application.

Isn’t it outrageous to have to pay a training company in advance for exams? Go for the best offer at the appropriate time, instead of paying any mark-up – and do it in a local testing centre – instead of miles away at the college’s beck and call.

Big margins are netted by some training companies that get money upfront for exam fees. A number of students don’t take them for various reasons but the company keeps the money. Astoundingly enough, providers exist that depend on students not taking their exams – as that’s very profitable for them.

Pay heed to the fact that, with ‘Exam Guarantees’ from most places – the company decides when you can do your re-takes. Subsequent exam attempts are only authorised at the company’s say so.

VUE and Prometric examinations are in the region of 112 pounds in this country. Why spend so much more on charges for ‘Exam Guarantees’ (often covertly rolled into the cost of the course) – when a quality course, support and study, commitment and preparing with good quality mock and practice exams is what will really guarantee success.

Only consider training paths that’ll move onto commercially acknowledged exams. There’s a plethora of trainers pushing minor ‘in-house’ certificates which are worthless when it comes to finding a job.

All the major IT organisations like Microsoft, Adobe, CompTIA or Cisco each have widely recognised proficiency programmes. These heavyweights can make sure you stand out at interview.

Looking around, we find a plethora of job availability in computing. Picking the right one out of this complexity is a mammoth decision.

How likely is it for us to understand what is involved in a particular job when it’s an alien environment to us? Maybe we don’t know someone who works in that sector anyway.

Consideration of these areas is most definitely required when you need to discover the right answers:

* Your personal interests and hobbies – these can highlight what areas will provide a happy working life.

* Do you hope to accomplish a key aim – for instance, working for yourself sometime soon?

* Is your income higher on your wish list than other factors.

* Considering the huge variation that IT encapsulates, it’s obvious you’ll need to be able to understand how they differ.

* You’ll also need to think hard about the amount of time and effort you’ll put into your training.

For most people, considering these areas requires a good chat with a professional that has direct industry experience. Not only the accreditations – you also need to understand the commercial requirements besides.

Are you toying with the idea of doing an MCSE? If the answer’s ‘yes’, there’s a good chance that you’ll fall into one of two camps: You are a knowledgeable person and you should formalise your skills with a qualification such as MCSE. Instead this could be your first step into commercial IT, but it’s apparent to you that there are many opportunities for qualified people.

As you do your searches, you will discover companies that reduce their costs by failing to use the current Microsoft version. Avoid training companies like these as you will face problems when it comes to exams. If your knowledge is of the wrong syllabus, it is going to be hugely difficult to get qualified.

A computer training organisation’s attention should be on doing the most for their students, and they should care greatly about their results. Studying for a career isn’t just about the certification – the procedure must also be geared towards helping you to decide on the most valid way forward for you.

The best type of package of training will undoubtedly incorporate accredited exam preparation packages.

Confirm that the practice exams are not only asking questions on the correct subjects, but also asking them in the same way that the proper exam will pose them. It can really throw some trainees if they’re met with completely different formats and phraseologies.

You should make sure you test your knowledge by doing quizzes and simulated exams prior to taking the real deal.

Many trainers provide piles of reference manuals and workbooks. This can be very boring and isn’t the best way to go about achieving retention.

Memory is vastly improved when all our senses are brought into the mix – learning experts have been saying this for as long as we can remember.

Interactive audio-visual materials featuring instructor demo’s and practice lab’s will forever turn you away from traditional book study. And you’ll actually enjoy doing them.

Be sure to get a training material demonstration from the training company. The materials should incorporate expert-led demonstrations, slideshows and interactive labs where you get to practice.

Avoiding training that is delivered purely online is generally a good idea. Ideally, you should opt for CD and DVD ROM courseware where offered, as you need to be able to use them whenever it’s convenient for you – you don’t want to be reliant on a quality and continuous internet connection.

Adding in the cost of exam fees upfront and offering an ‘Exam Guarantee’ is common for many training course providers. However, let’s consider what’s really going on:

Clearly it’s not free – you’re still footing the bill for it – the price has simply been included in the whole thing.

Evidence shows that if a student pays for their relevant examinations, one at a time, they’ll be in a better position to pass every time – because they’re aware of the cost and therefore will put more effort into their preparation.

Do the examinations somewhere close to home and find the best exam deal or offer available then.

A great deal of money is netted by a significant number of organisations that get money upfront for exam fees. A number of students don’t take them for various reasons but no refunds are given. Surprising as it sounds, there are companies around who rely on that fact – and that’s how they increase their profits.

Also, you should consider what an ‘exam guarantee’ really means. Many training companies will not pay for re-takes until you’re able to demonstrate an excellent mock pass rate.

On average, exams cost approximately 112 pounds twelve months or so ago through Prometric or VUE centres around the United Kingdom. So why pay hundreds or thousands of pounds extra to have ‘Exam Guarantees’, when any student knows that what’s really needed is consistent and systematic learning, coupled with quality exam simulation software.

Students looking to begin an Information Technology career often have no idea of what route they should take, or what market to achieve their certification in.

As having no previous experience in Information Technology, how can most of us understand what a particular job actually consists of?

To attack this, there should be a discussion of a variety of definitive areas:

* The sort of individual you consider yourself to be – what kind of jobs you enjoy, and don’t forget – what makes you unhappy.

* What time-frame are you looking at for your training?

* Any personal or home needs you have?

* Learning what the main Information technology roles and markets are – and what makes them different.

* You’ll also need to think hard about the amount of time and effort you’re going to invest in the accreditation program.

When all is said and done, your only chance of understanding everything necessary is via a meeting with an advisor or professional who understands the market well enough to provide solid advice.

The average cost of bringing up a child in the UK amounts to 193,000 pounds in total. Long term studies, which recently indicated this say it equates to approximately 26-28 pounds every day. Long suffering parents, who were almost unified in their total lack of surprise, greeted the news with a swathe of cynical retorts.

Many people are now weighing up the current recession and its effect on traditional education systems. Consistent reference is being made to the strategies to survive adopted by parents, educators and students in the recession of the 1990′s.

Analysis suggests that the money spent on education and schooling overall could on average be up to 40 percent of the entire household disposable income. With the hardening attitude towards mortgage allocation and bank lending, this figure could increase as young people stay with their parents for longer and extend their education programs – almost as a by product of something to do until things start to get better.

With an ever increasing family focus on the cost of living, alongside many companies cutting back on training and development programs – it is pointless spending money on training when you do not know for certain that the person will not be made redundant – it is small wonder that many people are now reviewing their method of personal development and the subject matter that they study in.

Banking, public services and the like have historically been considered long term stable employers and attracted people in accordance with that. Over the last ten or so years this has been largely superseded by the perception of positions on offer within the IT industry.

Unlike training in engineering or the motor industry (where key skills have mostly to be gained in a practical environment), IT training can predominantly be home based. Whilst it’s difficult to transport a complete car production line into a home, computer based training is a different matter. Progress in the intellectual property field such as IT have grown exponentially because of this and the continued developments in the way the skills are taught and learned.

New training methods using round the clock remote access to highly skilled lecturers adds weight to the strategy and results in certification in a field that is widely sought after all over the world. Along with visably quantified salary and career structures it is not surprising that IT training is so attractive.

As many people are unsure of their future, (whether early on in their career or mid-way through life), home-based training in subjects such as IT can often be seen as a superb, low cost, easy paced development program. Skills can be gained that are readily accepted anywhere in the world and are highly resilient in a changing economic environment.

Should you be aspiring to become Cisco accredited, and you’re new to working with switches and routers, we’d recommend taking the CCNA training. This teaches you the knowledge you need to understand routers. The world wide web is built up of many routers, and large companies with various different locations also rely on them to allow their networks of computers to communicate.

It’s vital that you already know a good deal about how computer networks operate and function, because computer networks are joined to routers. If not, the chances are you’ll fall behind. Better to look for a course covering the basics in networking (maybe the CompTIA Network+, possibly with A+ as well) and then do a CCNA course. Look for a training provider that can offer this as a career package.

We’d recommend a bespoke training program that will take you through a specific training path before starting your Cisco CCNA course skills.

Typically, a new trainee will not know to ask about something that can make a profound difference to their results – how their company divides up the training materials, and into what particular chunks.

Students often think it makes sense (with most training taking 1-3 years to gain full certified status,) that a training provider will issue a single section at a time, as you pass each element. However:

What could you expect if you didn’t actually complete everything within the time limits imposed? And maybe you’ll find their order of completion doesn’t come as naturally as another different route may.

For maximum flexibility and safety, it’s normal for most trainees to make sure that every element of their training is couriered out in one package, all at the beginning. That means it’s down to you in which order and at what speed you want to work.

Exam ‘guarantees’ are sometimes offered as part of a training package – they always involve paying for the exam fees up-front, before you’ve even made a start on the course. Before you jump at this so-called guarantee, look at the following:

Certainly it isn’t free – you’re still coughing up for it – it’s just been wrapped up in the price of the package.

If you want to qualify first ‘go’, then you should avoid exam guarantees and pay when entering exams, give it the priority it deserves and be ready for the task.

Shouldn’t you be looking to not pay up-front, but when you’re ready, instead of paying a premium to the training college, and to do it locally – instead of the remote centre that’s convenient only to the trainer?

Why borrow the money or pay in advance (plus interest of course) on exams when you didn’t need to? A great deal of money is netted by organisations charging all their exam fees up-front – and banking on the fact that many won’t be taken.

Pay heed to the fact that, with most ‘Exam Guarantees’ – they control when and how often you can do your re-takes. You’ll have to prove conclusively that you can pass before they’ll pay for another exam.

Exam fees averaged approximately 112 pounds last year through local VUE or Pro-metric centres throughout the country. So why pay hundreds or thousands of pounds extra to get ‘Exam Guarantees’, when it’s obvious that the most successful method is a commitment to studying and the use of authorised exam preparation tools.

Make sure that all your accreditations are current and commercially required – forget courses which end up with a useless in-house certificate or plaque.

The top IT companies such as Microsoft, Adobe, CompTIA or Cisco have widely recognised skills programmes. Huge conglomerates such as these can make sure you stand out at interview.

Being at the forefront of revolutionary new technology really is electrifying. You personally play your part in impacting progress around the world.

We are really only just starting to understand how this will truly impact our way of life. How we communicate and interact with everyone around us will be significantly affected by computers and the web.

And don’t forget that on average, the income of a person in the IT market in the United Kingdom is a lot greater than the national average salary, therefore you will probably gain much more in the IT sector, than you’d get in most other industries.

It would appear there’s not a hint of a downturn for IT jobs growth in the United Kingdom. The market sector continues to develop quickly, and as we have a significant shortage of skilled professionals, it’s most unlikely that it will even slow down for years to come.

If you’d like to become a web designer with the right credentials for the current working environment, your must-have certification is Adobe Dreamweaver.

For applications done commercially you’ll need an in-depth and thorough understanding of the full Adobe Web Creative Suite. This means also (but isn’t limited to) Action Script and Flash. Should you have ambitions to become an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) or Adobe Certified Professional (ACP) then such knowledge is non-negotiable.

To develop into a professional web-designer however, there’s a lot more to learn. You’ll need to bolt on programming skills like HTML, PHP and database engines like MySQL. A firm grounding in E-Commerce and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) will give your CV some extra credibility and make you more employable.

Working on revolutionary new technology gives you the best job satisfaction ever. Your actions are instrumental in impacting progress around the world.

We’re in the very early stages of beginning to get an inclination of how technology will influence everything we do. Computers and the Internet will significantly change the way we regard and interrelate with the rest of the world over the next few years.

A regular IT employee in the United Kingdom is likely to receive much more than equivalent professionals in other market sectors. Typical remuneration packages are amongst the highest in the country.

The requirement for certified IT specialists is certain for the significant future, because of the continuous growth in the marketplace and the huge skills gap that we still have.

One interesting way that course providers make a lot more is by adding exam fees upfront to the cost of a course then giving it ‘Exam Guarantee’ status. It looks impressive, but is it really:

We all know that we’re still footing the bill for it – it’s obviously already in the overall figure from the training company. It’s absolutely not free – and it’s insulting that we’re supposed to think it is!

The honest truth is that if a student pays for each examination, one by one, there’s a much better chance they’ll pass every time – because they are conscious of their payment and their application will be greater.

Don’t you think it’s more sensible to go for the best offer when you’re ready, rather than coughing up months or even a year or two in advance to the college, and to do it in a local testing office – rather than possibly hours away from your area?

Why borrow the money or pay in advance (plus interest of course) on examination fees when you didn’t need to? Big margins are made by companies getting money in early for exam fees – and banking on the fact that many won’t be taken.

It’s worth noting, in the majority of cases of ‘exam guarantees’ – you are not in control of when you can re-take the exam. They’ll only allow a re-take once completely satisfied.

Paying maybe a thousand pounds extra on ‘Exam Guarantees’ is foolish – when study, commitment and preparing with good quality mock and practice exams is what will really guarantee success.

An advisor that doesn’t dig around with lots of question – chances are they’re just a salesperson. If they’re pushing towards a particular product before learning about your history and experience, then you know it’s true.

It’s worth remembering, if you have some relevant qualifications that are related, then you can sometimes expect to begin at a different level to a student who’s starting from scratch.

Where this will be your initial attempt at studying for an IT examination then it may be wise to practice with some basic PC skills training first.

The area most overlooked by people mulling over a new direction is the concept of ‘training segmentation’. Essentially, this is the method used to break up the program for delivery to you, which can make a dramatic difference to how you end up.

By and large, you’ll join a programme that takes between and 1 and 3 years and receive one element at a time until graduation. While this may sound logical on one level, consider this:

Many students find that the trainer’s ‘standard’ path of training doesn’t suit. It’s often the case that it’s more expedient to use an alternative order of study. And what happens if they don’t finish in the allotted time?

Truth be told, the very best answer is to have a copy of their prescribed order of study, but get everything up-front. Everything is then in your possession should you not complete it as fast as they’d like.

If you’re like many of the students we talk to then you’re a practical sort of person – a ‘hands-on’ individual. Usually, the trial of reading reference books and manuals would be considered as a last resort, but you’d hate it. So look for on-screen interactive learning packages if books just don’t do it for you.

Learning psychology studies show that much more of what we learn in remembered when we use all our senses, and we put into practice what we’ve been studying.

Start a study-program in which you’ll receive a selection of CD and DVD based materials – you’ll be learning from instructor videos and demo’s, and then have the opportunity to hone your abilities through virtual lab’s.

All companies should willingly take you through some simple examples of the type of training materials they provide. You should hope for instructor-led videos and interactive areas to practice in.

You should avoid purely online training. Physical CD or DVD ROM materials are preferable where possible, so you can use them wherever and whenever you want – ISP quality varies, so you don’t want to be totally reliant on your internet connection always being ‘up’ and available.
